The Generation of Promise

We owe our freedom to freely embrace love to those that have suffered in the ecstasy of love. My third great grandmother Mariah was born a slave and survived the horrors of slavery. The most powerful testament to Mariah' existence was her ability to love and share love in the face of social restrictions and racial barriers. Love is an inheritable human emotion that can't be totally explained. I will attempt to describe the human emotion, love.

Well, love is an emotion that brings incredible joy and unspeakable agony. Love is an insatiable emotion that can leave its victims' weak and vulnerable. No matter how we love, we have the right to love. During Mariah's time, love was not free; it was an emotion that was imprisoned. Before my birth, Mariah promised her future generations that she would endure the pain of lost love, enslaved and forbidden love. Now, I am living in the generation of promise, that we all are grateful to those who sustained in adversity. Or existence depends on the power of love in humanity that invokes us to continue to preserve this precious emotion.

"Human Property the Story of Mariah" is a compelling historical documentary about the power of love and the enduring sacrifices born from ecstasy and agony. Through the violence to attain freedom, arises the voices of love.
